A Fortuitous Arrival. Gigantic America!

Gigantic Issue #2: Gigantic America is headed for distribution this week!

Please look for us in stores across the country, or Paris for you Francophiles! Or, come dance the night away and pick up a copy hot off the press at our Issue #2 Release Party Saturday, February 27th, at PPOW Gallery!

The issue features interviews with Lydia Millet (author of the recent story collection Love In Infant Monkeys), Adrian Tomine (illustrator of the graphic novel Shortcomings) and Sam Lipsyte (author of the forthcoming novel The Ask, out from FSG this March); an exciting excerpt from legend Robert Coover’s forthcoming novel Noir; fantastic new fiction by Blake Butler (author of the recent story collection, Scorch Atlas), Leni Zumas, Ben Stroud, Luca Dipierro and many others; and art by Thomas Allen, Thomas Doyle, Jordan Bruner, and Max Fenton.

As a tribute to our first themed issue, each magazine includes a bonus set of collectible cards featuring biographies of famous Americans, as written by Deb Olin Unferth, Michael Kimball, Clancy Martin, Margo Jefferson, Ken Sparling, Stephen O’Connor and Joe Wenderoth.  Each card is printed on recycled paper and features original artwork by André da Loba.

In celebration of the issue’s release, we will be hosting a night of readings and performances on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the PPOW Gallery on West 25th Street in Chelsea.
